How to maximize Ideos U8150 Battery Life – maximize Huawei Ideos Mobile Phone Battery Life

Hi everyone!

Probably you might be knowing about the best Android Mobile Phone in the market – i.e. Huawei Ideos U8150.

But you were worrying about the battery life as the Android operating system fetches it in very short period of time. The real culprit is the Android Operating System, not the hardware of this phone.

So I am writing a few tips for increasing the battery life of Ideos. I personally experienced these tricks on my Ideos Phone.

  1. Use the power button to lock/unlock the screen
  2. Turn off Wi-Fi, if you are not using them
  3. Turn off Blue-tooth when not needed
  4. Set the screen timeout to say 30 seconds or 10 seconds (or the smallest value present on your ideos phone)
  5. Set the screen brightness to around 2nd or 3rd level (or a lower degree)
  6. Disable background data synchronization, when not required
  7. Disable data services, when not required
  8. Disable GPS, when not required
  9. Only use the 2G networks, which saves your phone battery a lot

Even I am using these tricks to save the battery life of my Ideos phone, and most of the time I get battery back-up of around 3 days and 6 hours.

All the best!

How to Install Android applications from PC Remotely via Web

Earlier I wrote how you could install the Android Applications from your Computer or Laptop offline, and now on huge user’s demand, I am writing how to install apps to the Android Phone by using the Web. Google had previewed the super-cool applications installation over-the-air, which was scheduled for the next Android version by the code name as Gingerbread. However you can get that un-officailly now.

Well, a new Android market alternative – AppBrain (a 3rd party Android Market-Place) allows to you install all the free android market applications over-the-air from your Computer / PC or Mac by using the Web interface, and without even touching your android mobile phone. But for doing so, you will need Internet to be enabled on your Android Phone, and then you will need to install the AppBrain marketplace on your android mobile phone.

AppBrain can also synchronize your installed applications list with the list of the applications which you want over the web.

Here is a deeper look at the AppBrain Marketplace :

Installing Android Applications by the Web :

  1. Visit and log-in with your preferred Google ID and Passwords
  2. Now download the AppBrain Market Sync application and Log-in, with the same Google ID and Passwords. Now you can Download it from the Android Market*, or scan the following bar code from your phone and you will be redirected to the browser.
  3. Now download this FastWeb Install app from the Android Market* or scan the below bar-code as told above.
  4. Thereafter visit the and choose install after hitting the desired app from there.

Now one question would be going in your mind that whether it is secure or not !

Well, AppBrain integrates your Google’s Authorization without actually looking at your credentials like passwords etc., but no one can guarantee what’s going behind the scenes.

Till yet, the AppBrain Instant Installer works only with the free applications, and not the paid ones, which could be said as a disadvantage of it.

* Links could only be opened from the Android Phones, and needs the Internet Connection either via your Phone Operator or by the Wi-Fi.

How to install Android Applications from Computer

People do ask me often, “How do I install Android Applications from the PC?” or “How to install Android Applications from PC to Phone?”

Okay! You’ll be going to learn it here. 🙂

Well, to install the applications, you should use adb (Android Debug Bridge). First of all you will be required to connect to your mobile phone with the Computer using the USB cable and get the .apk file to do that. You can refer to the Installation of Applications part here.
ADB needs an Android SDK to be pre-installed over your PC.

So you should install it first.

However, The much easier method would be, if you have Wi-Fi connections nearby then connect you phone to one of them (Access-Points), and launch the Android Market hence. But the last and most efficient procedure for installing apps offline from Computer/Laptop to the Android Phones is very simple, Just follow this method:

  1. For the first time you are required to activate the internet services with your Mobile Phone SIM Card Network or By using the Wi-Fi.
  2. Now Download the Astro File Manager (approx. 2 MegaBytes) to your android mobile. Install it and that’s it.
  3. Now disconnect you mobile phone to the internet services
  4. Now copy the .apk files to your android phone after downloading it to the computer, (You can download the apk files from any famous software providing website
  5. Then, connect your phone with the computer, and copy all .apk files into the phone memory card.
  6. Now, Browse the .apk files via Astro File Manager, and now you are ready to install the applications without any need of the Google Android Market.

Well, this method is very easy, if you get used to it.

This trick is also helpful to save the high internet bills and charges from the mobile phone network operators than the home/office internet.

You can leave out a comment in the comment-box provided below, if you have any doubts regarding any installations.

Google Music
Google Music

After partnerships with and, Google has launched a portal for the Indian Music, where poeple can listen to their favorite songs, almost from all the bollywood movies, a few hollywood movies (e.g. titanic), and individually composed music albums.

It is very easy to find any specific song in Google Song Listening Service. You can apply the filters like movie title, song name, actors’ name, singer’s name, and so on. You can listen to any song online at this page no matter how old or new it is.

Tip: You can use “new songs” query, to see the list of songs, sorted by the release dates.

The only disadvantage of it is, at present the music streaming is done by Flash, which makes it useless for the digital devices like PDA, Smartphones / mobile phones (Where flash is disabled).

However the phones having support of flash could use this service.

As it’s only acting as a search engine for the music, so no playlist support is provided yet. Moreover it is still in the Google Labs, and some more features may be added soon for the public releases.
